This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog – making sure your hooks are always sharp.

Well hello there fellow AMFisHers, hope you have all been staying warm this winter has it ever been frigid weather!

This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog is about keeping your hooks sharp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98LfsIZ155g&feature=player_embedded

This is something that can’t be overlooked as it is on the list of things that can cost you a fish of a lifetime.  A sharp hook is key when using any bait, ever more key on baits with lots of treble hooks.

Simple rule of thumb is to make sure your hooks are sharp throughout a day of fishing, right at the first sign of a missed fished that you thought was hooked check each and every point on all hooks of that bait.

When it comes to sharpening them in pretty simple a small piece of sharpening stone is all you will need to file the point right up.  Think of your hooks like a hot knife going through butter, a dull hook with be more like a cold knife trying to go through butter.

For the few seconds it takes to make sure you have sharp hooks is nothing but time well spent.

This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog – rigging a swimbait properly.

Hi AMFisHers!  This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog is about rigging a swimbait properly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Qawe4gnJi2g

Swimbaits are relatively new baits on the market the last few years and man oh man do they produce fish!

As you will see in this vlog I point out some key important points, number one being making sure this bait is rigged up correctly and totally straight on the hook.

These baits are soft plastic minnow style lures that have a very distinct paddle tail, that fish go nuts for when they see it moving through the water.

Rig this bait improperly and you will not have much luck catching fish, BUT once it is rigged correctly and fished very slowly the result is quite an experience!

Hope you found this vlog helpful.
