This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog – fishing structure & finding structure – fishing

Hi AMFisHers!  This AMFisH(LEARN more: www.amfish.ca) fishing vlog is about fishing structure and finding structure on the water:

As many of you already know fish love hanging around structure, whether it is a rocky drop off shoal, docks, boat houses, sunken trees, boulders you name it fish love areas like this for various reasons.

First they use areas like this for protection from predator fish, great places to hide.  Then you have reasons like ambushing bait, feeding areas, sunning themselves, spawning, all these reasons make fishing structure a big bonus!

It does not matter if you are in a boat loaded with electronics or a kayak, keep an eye out for structure as you are cruising along.  As you saw in this video I am pretty much in the middle of this lake and noticed some rocks bulging out from a distance, I knew there was decent structure there so I paddled over.  This rock shoal was several meters long and wide, which made it a great place to fish, WHY well it was also surrounded by weeds and deep drop offs, a perfect location for schooling fish and predator fish.

Right after I shot this vlog I started fishing the structure that was in this video and ended up catching a few great fish including this big pike that absolutely hammered my chartreuse spinnerbait!   BIG fish will always cruise in around areas like this as they will use it for a daily feeding zone.

Once you locate structure make a note of it for next time and be sure to cast around it with multiple baits and try fishing it at different times of the day, best are usually early morning, mid day when fish can be very active and dusk.

Hope you found this post helpful!
