Hi fellow AMFisHers! This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog is about having doubles of your top producing baits:
This is not something many people think about BUT it really is important for many reasons. I will use me and my chartreuse spinnerbaits as an example, this is my go to bait that has caught me a lot of fish over the years and a bait that I have a great deal of confidence in using.
My chartreuse double Colorado nickel blade spinnerbaits(see pic below) are so important to my fishing outings that at any given time I have no less than 6 of them, most of the time even more. Some may say why so many? Well it’s a very simple answer, it’s my go to bait the one most important bait that I depend on, make sense now?
Due to it being my go to #1 bait having a few extras is the least I can do, as the scenarios for needing them can range from the fish biting that bait only so I can have whoever is with me use one to get on the fish bite immediately, I could lose one and need an extra identical bait, it can break on me leaving me off the fish bite, a predator fish can bite it off my line, list of things that can happen goes on and on so some extras of these top performing baits should be something you practice.
One of the biggest factors of having extras is you know you are covered should anything happen on the water, so it keeps your confidence level nice and high. Worrying about if you have any extras left will make any outing take a turn for the worst, so for the small cost that is associated with having some extras pick them up store them away for that rainy day!
Hope you found this post helpful!
